Establish 1st VNF factory in Ca Mau

Located at the heart of the Vietnam’s shrimp industry, VNF’s inaugural Ca Mau factory focusing on producing Shrimp protein hydrolysate (under the company’s exclusive patent) and Chitin.

Signed strategic contract with leading material suppliers

VNF signed a strategic duplly agreement with major shrimp exporters in Vietnam – allowing VNF to own a large, long-term and quality consistence (equivalent to export standards).

Signed strategic partnerships with CJ Korea

VNF signed a strategic dítribution agreement with CJ (Cheil Jedang) a world leading animal feed corporation – proving the quality of VNF’s feed products meeting international standards and demand.

Introduced Squid Protein Hydrolysate feed product

The success of Shrimp Protein Hydrolysate motivated VNF to continue expanding VNF’s feed product portfolio. Based on VNF’s proprietary biotechnology and production, VNF further developed, mass-produced, and commercialized the new product Squid Protein Hydrolysate. The product was instantly met with widespread positive reaction from both local and global customers.

Successfully exported first global shipment

In October 2015, via  a distribution contract with CJ, VNF exported the first order of Shrimp Soluble Extract to Indonesia – marking VNF’s first step into the global marketplace

Constructed 2nd factory in Hau Giang

VNF’s second factory was strategically built neighboring Minh Phu’s Hau Giang factory. Thanks to closer proximity to the raw materials source, VNF can significantly improve the freshness of co-products and thus meet stringent international food standards. This was a giant leap forward for both VNF as the world’s 1st  food grade shrimp co-products factory with global certifications.

Funding granted from the VCIC (Vietnam Center for Climate Change) organization

Recognizing the positive impact of VNF’s solutions in reducing environmental pollution and in response to climate change, VCIC (Vietnam Center for Climate Change) awarded VNF financial and ongoing official support to continue scaling and improving VNF’s biotechnology. The financial grant funding was awarded from the World Bank

Granted funding from the FIRST (World Bank sponsored) project

Due to VNF’s biotechnological orientation driving the value-added solution processing shrimp co-products, VNF was a grant recipient for the World Bank sponsored FIRST (Fostering Innovation through Research, Science & Technology) award. The key focus of the funding was to boost VNF’s biological zero-waste production approach and create a more diverse, higher-quality product portfolio

Established Vietnam’s first R&D center entirely dedicated to the valorization of shrimp co-products

Understanding that discoveries and breakthroughs at the R&D level would drive the expansion of VNF’s finished product portfolio and created the fundamental to the sustainable future developments, VNF significantly invested in building a separate VNF R&D center equipped with modern equipment and managed by a young but experienced and talented team.

Key host and speaker at Tech Demo (a national event to promote demonstration & transfer of technologies) 2018

During 2018 Tech Demo, VNF was honored to be invited to coordinate with SATI (State Agency for Technology Innovation) from MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology) and help host the country’s first-ever International Conference on valorization of shrimp co-products industry of Vietnam. The conference greatly helped raise awareness of the values of the shrimp co-products sector – attracting more than 300 domestic and foreign attendees.

Developed VNF’s Chitosan product portfolio and  its derivative products

With an abundant source of shrimp shells, VNF spearheaded the successful research and developed an eco-friendly mass production of Chitosan products. Given their strong bioactivity effects and diverse applications, Chitosan and its derivatives possess great potential in becoming leading ‘green & sustainable’ solutions for many of the world’s industries – in line with the global Chitosan industry’s exponential growth

Successfully exported first EU shipment

In September 2018, VNF successfully exported its first Shrimp Protein Hydrolysate and Squid Protein Hydrolysate to EU market. This is a great milestone of development for VNF as EU is regarded as one of the most stringent regulatory markets worldwide.

2019

Funding granted from the Technology innovation program

Recognizing the vast potential of the Chitosan industry, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) choose to allocate funding from the Techonology Innovation Program to VNF to continue furthering research into and diversifying Chitosan products

Awarded FI (Food Ingredients) 2019 in Paris

In December 2019, VNF was announced as the winner of the global ‘2019 Food Ingredients: Innovation Award’ in the most prestigious category ‘Future of Nutrition’. VNF’s food ingredients product portfolio was spotlighted both for its delicious flavors and aromas, as well as for VNF’s biotechnological zero-waste production mindset alleviating environmental burden of a vast raw materials source. Moreoever, the nutrient-rich and protein-rich content of VNF’s food products was globally recognized as a highly viable alternative source of protein considering the world’s growing protein shortage.
