Following a field visit to a guava farm alongside BSSC in early February, VNF’s journey within the Plastics Innovation Programme (PIP) – supported by UNDP – is now entering a pivotal phase: consolidating trial results, sharing field experiences, and exploring pathways for broader real-world application.

Field observations, farmer feedback, and trial results from the chitosan-based bioplastic bag solution tested on guava crops have laid the groundwork for VNF and its partners to convene a focused thematic workshop:

“BIOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS FROM SHRIMP BY-PRODUCTS FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE: FROM RESEARCH TO REAL-WORLD APPLICATION”

Date & Time: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM, 06 May 2026

Venue: Đức Hòa Commune, Tây Ninh Province

Lead Organizer: Vietnam Food Joint Stock Company (VNF)

Co-organizers: United Nations Development Programme (
UNDP), Business Startup Support Centre (
BSSC), Investment and Business Partners (
IBP)

Key Discussion Topics:
• Research findings and field trial results under the PIP – UNDP Programme
• Testimonials from farmers participating in the pilot model
• Introduction of VNF’s biological product line for crop cultivation
• Open Q&A session on commercialization strategies and model scale-up

This workshop serves as a platform to connect businesses, experts, regulatory bodies, and the agricultural community in advancing biological solutions derived from shrimp by-products toward practical application – contributing to sustainable agriculture and a circular economy.
