On 3rd of October, VNF has the honor to collaborate with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Can Tho People’s Committee to host The First International Conference on Technology Solutions to Enhance the Value of Shrimp By-Products Sector in Vietnam.
The seminar was a huge success and honored to receive over 300 visitors from Ministries & Departments, domestic & foreign enterprises, press & media, etc, with the motto “Raising the awareness and value of the shrimp by-product sector, updating the trends of countries around the world and shaping the strategy for shrimp by-products in Vietnam”
Shrimp industry is gradually developing and becoming a key export sector of Vietnam seafood. With an export target of US$ 10 billion by 2025, the shrimp industry is expected to grow significantly in the future. As a result, the national shrimp byproduct is projected to increase by 60% and be “gold mine” in the value chain of shrimp industry.
In order to meet the requirements of the market, Vietnam Food Joint Stock Company (VNF) has become a pioneer in research and application of science and technology to produce and process great value products from shrimp byproducts. The range of products is widely used in many fields such as Animal Nutrition and Health, Human Nutrition and Health, Pharmaceuticals and Fertilizers. This creates a value-added chain for the rendering industry as well as solving the negative impacts on the environment. Meanwhile, VNF announced the establishment of the R&D Center for developing of Shrimp by-products and the Scholarship “the Development of Aquatic by-products sector in Vietnam” to assist organizations and individuals in utilizing the potential and abundant by-products of the market.
