❓ Did you know – Vietnam produced more than 20 million tons of animal feed in 2023, among which swine 🐖 and poultry 🐓 feed volume accounting for 95% (11 million tons for pig feed and 8 million tons for poultry feed)?
Raising pigs and poultry does not only provide a vital food source but also contribute to the economic growth. To enhance farming efficiency, the Government, along with businesses, is implementing various solutions aimed at (1) optimizing feed utilization, (2) improving produce quality & food safety, and (3) protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.
🚩 In Dong Nai – the livestock capital of Vietnam, VNF had the opportunity to introduce to farmers the bio-solutions extracted from shrimp co-products 🦐 to enhance feed utilization and farming performance ✨.
VNF’s products can deliver:
♨ Improving feed palatability 100%, increasing feed intake 3-5%, especially during critical stages like lactating sows, weaning piglets, fattening pigs, and chickens.
💹 Enhancing nutrient digestion and absorption, resulting in a 6-10% reduction in FCR (feed conversion ratio).
🌟 Improving the quality of final produce, including pork texture and color, egg yolk color (13-14 points), and physical appearance (feathers, skin, etc.).
⚡ Boosting health, leading to better resilience and adaptation to changing environmental conditions.
💰💰💰 Ultimately, increasing economic return for the farms, spending 1 unit on the product yields >5 units for pigs and >3 units for chickens 💪.
👏 The success of the Dong Nai Consultancy Workshop is part of a series of workshops aimed at spreading VNF’s bio-solutions to Vietnam’s agricultural sectors. This not only helps create and transform values from the shrimp co-products, but also optimizes feed utilization, and increases economic values for farmers. We will continue our efforts and look forward to welcoming guests at the next workshop.
As the first Consultancy Workshop on livestock farming in the series belong to the Shrimp Molting Shells Projects, VNF received significant interest and enthusiasm from farms to apply the products. This serves as a great motivation for VNF to continue its journey.
