🎉 VNF Honored in UNDP’s Top 25 – Turning Shrimp Shells & Rice Straw into a Plastic-Free Solution!

We are proud to announce that our project, “Biodegradable fruit bags from agricultural wastes (shrimp & rice)”, has been selected as one of the Top 25 outstanding innovations in the Plastics Innovation Programme organized by UNDP Viet Nam (UNDP in Việt Nam)!
🌱 Our solution addresses plastic pollution in agriculture by developing bio-bags made from chitosan (shrimp shells) and cellulose (rice straw). These bags help protect fruits from pests while still on the tree, and can fully decompose in soil into organic fertilizer – offering a sustainable alternative to the non-degradable plastic bags still widely used in farming.
Over the next two months, we will participate in the Incubation Phase with UNDP experts to:
• Finalize our technical and business model
• Develop solutions tailored to the real market
• Connect with businesses and explore pilot opportunities on the ground
This is a major milestone in our journey to bring impactful ideas to life. With the support of UNDP and the broader community, we believe we can create meaningful change for both the environment and society.
Sincere thanks to UNDP Viet Nam for this incredible opportunity!
Stay tuned as we move forward with our next chapter!
